Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Next Tech Labs (“we”, “us”), United Arab Emirates, the operator of Herbora, covering the Herbora mobile app and this website. By using Herbora you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. Herbora is educational, not medical
This is the most important term in this document, so it comes first.
Herbora is an educational reference about plants and the traditions that use them. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment recommendation, and it is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Nothing in the app is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- Never use Herbora to self-treat a medical condition.
- Always consult a clinician before acting on anything you read in the app, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
- Plant identification can be wrong. Never eat, apply or otherwise consume a plant on the strength of a scan. Many plants are toxic, and some closely resemble edible species. Confirm with a qualified botanist or herbalist first.
- Some plants interact dangerously with prescribed medication.
- If you have symptoms that worry you, contact a doctor or your local emergency service. Do not rely on the app.
2. Your account
You may use Herbora as a guest or create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use Herbora. Tell us promptly at support@herbora.tech if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Subscription terms
What Premium includes
Herbora Premium unlocks unlimited plant scans, offline regional plant packs, the full evidence and research library, advanced wellness tracking, and expert-reviewed content. Without Premium you get 5 plant identifications each calendar month and the free library.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Your local price and currency are set by the App Store or Google Play and are confirmed to you before you are charged. There is no free trial.
Billing and renewal
Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds and price changes
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us. If we change a price, the store will ask you to confirm before the next renewal is charged; if you do not confirm, the subscription will not renew.
Premium does not change what Herbora is
Premium unlocks more content and tools. It does not make Herbora a medical service. Section 1 applies in full to Premium subscribers.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Herbora for any unlawful purpose, or to give medical advice to others;
- scrape, bulk-download or redistribute the content or knowledge graph except under a written licence from us;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- interfere with or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or circumvent rate limits or access controls;
- upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content.
API access is governed by these terms plus any additional terms issued with your API key. Contact partnerships@herbora.tech for commercial or institutional use.
5. Content and intellectual property
Herbora, its content, design and knowledge graph are owned by Next Tech Labs or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial use.
Content you create — notes, journal entries, collections, and material you submit through the contribute flow — remains yours. By submitting a contribution you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and publish it within Herbora.
6. Third-party services
Herbora relies on third parties including Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, a plant identification provider and an AI enrichment provider. Their terms apply to their parts of the service, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. Referenced research is the work of its authors and publishers.
7. Availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Herbora, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Where we discontinue a paid feature, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund through the relevant app store.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Herbora is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that plant identifications, traditional-use information or research summaries are accurate, complete or current.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Herbora. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Herbora is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of Herbora or your breach of these terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using Herbora at any time and delete your account from Profile → Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 1, 5, 8, 9 and 10 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the United Arab Emirates have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Herbora after a change means you accept the updated terms.
